Training > Astronaut Training
Since 2003 Aera provides to the European Space Agency a continuos support inside the Training Division of the European Astronaut Centre.
The competencies developed both in the technical and Human Factor Training have allowed Aera to gain important roles in the managment , design, and implementation of training for Astronauts and for Flight Controllers.
Here are the main activities implemente for the European Space Agency:
Training Design and Development
- Management of the training requirements of the Fluid Science Laboratory (FSL)
- Supervision to the development fo the training of the Fluid Science Laboratory
- Supervision to the development fo the training of the experiment FASES e GEOFLOW
- Support to the definition of the requirements for theHuman Behaviour and Performance (HBP) Training for long duration missions
- Coordination of the development and implementation of the HBP training with Lufthansa Flight Training and the 9th Regiment Paratroops "Col Moschin"
(Seminars, Simulation and outdoor training)
Training Implementation
- Implementation of the first FSL familiarization during the first Astroanut Advanced Training in Europe
- Implementation of six NASA-ESA Instructor Training Course to certify new instructors
- Co-Facilitation of HBP seminar for Flight Director and Simulation Engineer of the Columbus Control Center
(Competencies covered: Communication, Situational Awareness, Decision Making, Teamwork, Feedback and Debriefing)
- Co-Facilitation of HBP seminar fo the Antartic Concordia Base (Competencies covered: Communication, Conflict managment, Teamwork)
Engineering support to training
- Technical support to the definition of the design requirements of Training Model for FSL and its experiment FASES and GEOFLOW
- Technical support for the design, development and acceptance of the FSL Training Model
- Technical support for the development of the European Payloads Simulators (Biolab, FSL, European Drawer Rack)
